The Village Community Network is a Montclair-area community affiliate building mutual aid, local connection, and practical support systems through collective care, sharing, and neighborhood participation.
Overview
The Village Community Network works from a simple community question: what becomes possible when people can have basic needs met from within their own community? Its work brings people together around mutual aid, shared resources, relationship, and the practical exchange of what people need and what they can offer.
As an Ancestral Egbe community affiliate, the network reflects the social side of collective responsibility. Healing is not only personal or ceremonial; it also includes neighbors building dependable systems of care, reciprocity, and participation together.
The September Free Together gathering invites Montclair residents to imagine community support in public: interactive brainstorming, live art, children's activities, free snacks, and connection with area organizations already building support systems.
