Ancestor Elevation is a rite performed to help resolve issues that may be weighing down the spirits of the dead and delaying their progress.
Depending on one's cosmology or the state that the soul is in, the rite can work to "elevate" the departed from the physical plane to the ancestral realms — or from a non-physical plane to an even higher realm — through Ebbó (a separate set of rituals that can be small or large depending on the challenge), prayerful intercession on their behalf, and words of comfort and relief for the soul.
As funeral rites, these are private rites done before or after burial to detach a soul from the attachments that would keep them earth-bound. When these rites are not performed — or were performed incorrectly — the soul may remain in a state of incompletion that affects the living members of the family line.
Signs this service may be needed:
- Persistent unexplained disturbances in the home
- Recurring dreams or visitations from a deceased family member
- Family members sensing unresolved energy connected to a specific ancestor
- Funeral rites that were rushed, cut short, or omitted in the family's history
- A feeling of generational grief or mourning that has no clear origin
Sessions are conducted in person or online and typically last approximately 3 hours.
