Hello & Akwaaba
The Ghana Story
Peace & blessings. This story introduces the people, place, and relationships behind the Ghana initiative. It explains who Nana Zakia N. Alston is, why Assin Kruwa matters, and how the current projects grow from long-standing service, accountability, and village partnership.
Who This Work Is Rooted In
Nana Zakia N. Alston serves as CEO of Proverbs 8 Empowerment International and has worked across Ghana and the United States in support of village development, fundraising, education, and cultural programming. Her relationship to Assin Kruwa is not temporary or transactional. It is rooted in years of direct service, community relationship, and practical institution-building.
Her work has included repeated travel between the United States and Ghana, carrying donations, coordinating support, advocating publicly, and helping secure resources for local development. That history gives the current 2026 to 2028 initiative its foundation: the projects are not abstract ideas, but the next phase of an existing relationship.
Assin Kruwa Context
Assin Kruwa sits within the Kakum National Park rainforest region of Ghana. The area has long faced pressures common to rural communities: underemployment, limited infrastructure, vulnerable access to educational opportunity, and the need for sustained outside partnership that does not become extractive.
The current projects are tied to a real place, a real community, and a real development history. The goal is not charity from a distance, but partnership that strengthens local capacity, supports cultural continuity, and creates practical opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
Documented Past Work
- Advocacy around feeder-road improvement and safer access routes

Why This Matters Now
The Ghana Eco Tourism initiative brings together fundraiser visibility, travel planning, cultural exchange, and community partnership. This story gives prospective supporters the context behind that work: a history, a face, and a reason to understand the campaign as part of a larger development path.
